Completed on time and within budget, a six week refurbishment of an historic and prestigious room within a London Club, situated in Whitehall.
The scope of works included restoring the ceiling dating back to 1882 and careful cleaning, repair and replacement of decorative tiles on impressive Corinthian columns.
The decorations included hanging a rich, dark green damask wallcovering, making up over 500 mts. of woven damask fabric for the curtains with green and gold bullion fringe and decorative cord and tassel tiebacks.
The carpet was specially woven to include five chlidema inset rugs in a Turkish design, which was re-coloured to suit the new scheme.
All the specialist contractors completed their works within an extremely tight programme with Florin Interiors, as the Interior Design Company, Main Contractor and Project Management team.
The above image was taken mid-way during the project when the columns were being restored and the damask paper was being hung.
In the image on the right, the carpet has been fitted, chandeliers are hung, the base of the ceramic columns are being cleaned and the curtains are about to be installed, leaving the portraits to be reinstated and furniture to be installed.

The yacht EH01 owned by Global Yachting, based in Cowes came first in category and first overall. The passage took 19 days from Las Palmas across the Atlantic ocean to St. Lucia and the crew arrived tired, but elated at around 2.00 am in St. Lucia and were greeted by the Arc welcoming committee bearing fruit and rum.
The crew of 10 were from around the world who signed up to do this race, guys from England, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark and the United States.
"We had a few tough days upwind sailing when the conditions were really uncomfortable, but everyone pulled together and the lasting impression I have of the experience is of laughter and sheer enjoyment. The scenery was astonishing with amazing dawns and sunsets, the sea was different every day and we had dolphins racing the bow waves, and a couple of times spotted the odd whale.
It was a fantastic experience and to win the race is just brilliant!' said Beverley, who is back in the office now but hoping to be able to do the Rolex Sydney/Hobart in December, projects and work permitting!
